Ralph D'Auria, MD

At Rehab Orthopedic Medicine in Decatur, GA, we care for people with orthopedic problems (neck, back, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and broken bones.) We use conservative treatment, without surgery, with the goal of relieving pain and restoring lost function as quickly as possible. We specialize in the treatment of injuries from automobile accidents, on-the-job injuries, and sports injuries: as well as non-injury related pain such as chronic low back and knee pain.

Ralph D'auria, M.D. has expertise acquired during completion of two full residency programs, for a total of ten years of post graduate medical training, first in Orthopedic Surgery, then followed by a second in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (with Board Certification.) During Dr. D'Auria's 26 years in clinical practice, he has developed a particular strength in the non-surgical treatment and rehabilitation of neck and back injuries. Our on-site physical therapy department is staffed by a licensed Physical Therapist who has extensive experience in orthopedic rehabilitation. We are fully equipped with state-of-the-art MedX spinal rehabilitation equipment, shown to produce positive outcomes even in patients who have had poor results from previous surgery or other forms of treatments. Each patient is individually evaluated and started on a treatment program designed specifically for them. The patient's course of treatment is physician-monitored, and will be modified as needed to achieve optimum results. In most cases, new patients can be scheduled immediately, often on the same day. We are equipped to handle minor emergencies, and will accept patients on a walk-in basis when necessary. Evaluation and treatment of all musculo-skeletal injuries; back and neck injuries; all injuries of the shoulder, knee, and all major joints of the body. Fracture care (x-rays, splinting and application of casts.) Joint infiltrations, including Synvisc® injections for arthritis of the knees. Pain management procedures: trigger point injections, tendons/ligament infiltrations, and nerve blocks. Physical Therapy Services: Lumbar and Cervical MedX Rehab programs: Active strengthening programs for the neck, back, knees, ankles, shoulders, hips: Post-surgical rehab: Post knee arthroscopy protocols.
